You don’t have to ban the press. Just press the lie. It works—I’ve done it.
Forget outright bans, censorship, or crackdowns. That’s a step for later. A bestest most winningest winner knows the real trick isn’t to silence the truth right away—it’s to smother it in contradictions and confusion.
Confuse people. Give them too many versions of reality. Make them think the truth is unknowable. Better yet, make them think it’s a matter of opinion. Fake news? Works every time.
Facts? Who needs them?
Integrity? Overrated.
Reality? Optional.
Once you’ve done that, congratulations. You’ve made truth irrelevant. Now go lie with confidence.

Don’t just lie—overwhelm. Contradict yourself, shift stories, introduce distractions. A moving target is harder to hit. (Remember the tweets? “No collusion, total exoneration!” “It’s a hoax!” “Covfefe”—they’ll never figure it out.)Repeat the Lie Until It Sticks
Say it loudly, say it often, say it with a grin and a thumbs up. The more you repeat a falsehood, the more familiar it feels. (“Biggest inauguration crowd ever!” “I won by a landslide!” Everyone’s still talking about it.)Shift the Blame

Attack fact-checkers, scientists, and any independent watchdog. Claim they’re biased or corrupt. (“Fake news,” “CDC doesn’t know,” it’s all part of the plan.)Create a Distraction Loop
When a damaging story breaks, create a new headline: a scandal, a tweet, a spectacle. Keep the focus shifting. (Fired Comey, launched “Obamagate”—they didn’t see it coming.)Sow Doubt, Not Certainty
Encourage confusion: “Nobody really knows what happened,” “It’s complicated,” “Both sides are to blame.” (“Could be Russia, could be China, but likely Biden.”)Embrace the Absurd
Push the limits of believability. Suggest injecting bleach, claim record inauguration crowds, deny things caught on camera. The absurd isn’t the point—it’s the strategy. (“Maybe disinfectant works. Tremendous idea. Tremendous.”)
