π The Dictator Playbook: Step 2 β Turn Loyalty Into a Test
The Only Loyalty That Matters Is to You
Youβve seen how it starts. Now letβs take it further.
You donβt just need supporters. You need loyalists. The kind whoβll swear allegiance, silence their doubts, and turn on anyone who hesitates. And the best part? You donβt even have to ask. Just make them prove it. Itβs brilliant. Everyoneβs talking about it.
Start with public displaysβpledges, oaths, rallies where dissent is impossible to hide. Make people choose: are they with you, or are they against you? Blur the lines so much that even silence starts to look like betrayal. Theyβll be tripping over themselves to prove theyβre with you. Iβve seen it. Iβve done it. It worksβtremendously.
Raise the stakes. Reward the loyalists with visibility, access, and perks. Give them a front row seat. Let them feel important. Punish the othersβsubtly, sure, but make it clear. Replace βI disagreeβ with βIβm disloyal,β and soon, disagreement wonβt even cross their minds. Theyβll be too busy proving theyβre on your side. My side is the best side. The winningest side. There is no better side.
The best part? Once they start showing loyalty, they canβt stop. Itβs like a machine. The louder they shout, the harder it is to pull back. And guess who theyβre all pointing at? Me. Always me.
Fairness? Please. Thatβs for losers.
Consensus? Weak.
Loyalty? Now youβre speaking my language.
Once youβve done that, congratulations. Youβve made loyalty the test. Now go lie with confidence. And when they shout your name, just smile and soak it in. You earned it. Youβre the best. The very best. Everyone says so.
π Congratulations on Completing Step 2! Hereβs What Youβve Accomplished So Far:
(By Yours Truly β Donald J. Trump)
Forced Public Displays of Loyalty β Forget quiet support. Make them show it. Pledges, flags, hats, chantsβyou name it. Let them fall over themselves to prove it. (Think βI pledge allegiance to the flag... and to Donald J. Trump,β the MAGA hats, the ralliesβperfect optics. Whoβs loyal? Itβs obvious.)
Blurred the Lines β You didnβt even need an explicit loyalty test. Just make silence look suspicious. Standing there quietly? Thatβs betrayal. Failing to clap hard enough? Thatβs betrayal. (Remember those cabinet meetings where everyone gushed over me? βYouβre doing an amazing job, Mr. President!β I didnβt even have to ask... or even do an amazing job. I love it! And who could forget the White House loyalty dinners?)
Subtly (or Not) Punished Dissent β You know the drill: cut them off, freeze them out, or just point the finger and let the mob do the rest. (Fire a few staffers who werenβt loyalβComey, Sessions, Bolton. Make them an example. βHeβs weak.β βHe wasnβt with us.β I almost even got them to take Penceβs head! The crowd was chanting for it! Watch everyone else scurry to stay in line.)
Turned Dissent into Betrayal β Forget βI disagree.β Now itβs βIβm a traitor.β Works every time. (Accuse critics of being part of the deep state. Call out Republicans who wouldnβt vote my way. βHeβs a RINO. Heβs a disgrace.β βWeak!β βSad!β)
Created a Loyalty Machine β Once they start, they canβt stop. Itβs a loyalty treadmill. The louder they shout, the deeper theyβre hooked. (Think of the social media warriors, the influencers, the talking heads. They defended every move I madeβno matter how wild. Thatβs loyalty, and itβs ALL to me!)
Made Yourself the Center of Gravity β Loyalty isnβt to a cause or a countryβitβs to you. Without you, theyβve got nothing. (All those βTrump is the party nowβ moments. Remember when they booed at the idea of distancing from me after January 6? Thatβs power. Even after the convictions, the crowds still cheer. Amazing!)
Shifted the Narrative from Policy to Personal β Forget βthe issues.β Now itβs all about loyalty to you. (The βwitch hunt,β the βhoax,β the endless grievance politics. No more talk about healthcare or deficits. Just βTheyβre out to get me, and if you donβt stand with me, youβre next.β And donβt forget those Truth Social rantsβworks every time.)
Weaponized Insecurity β Made them question whether theyβre loyal enough. Whisper that youβve got your eye on them. That they could be next. (Public loyalty testsβlike βWill you still support me if I run again?ββkept them guessing. Even βI like loyaltyβ wasnβt subtle. Remember those loyalty dinner photo-ops?)
Turned Supporters into Enforcers β You donβt have to punish the doubtersβtheyβll do it themselves. Theyβll report each other, cancel each other, shame each other. (The rallies, the online pile-ons, the βtraitorβ labelsβheck, I just have to send a βtruthβ on Truth Social and theyβll do the rest. The Jan. 6 crowd wasnβt just a flukeβit was the plan.)
